Religious Dorms Sprout Up

Arian Campo-Flores of The Wall Street Journal discusses the growth and controversy of faith-based residence halls on public college campuses. Proponents say the goal is to offer a welcoming and comfortable environment to religious students without the objective of conversion. However, others, like Freedom From Religion Foundation lawyer Andrew Seidel, say the housing is a violation of church-state separation. “You can’t favor religion over nonreligion,” he says.
