Sikh Temple Attack United Victim’s Son, Ex-Racist

On the anniversary of the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting, Dinesh Ramde of the Associated Press reports on an unlikely friendship that emerged from the tragedy. Pardeep Kaleka, whose father was gunned down, and Arno Michaelis, a former skinhead, united to preach a message of love and peace around Wisconsin. “We realized the reason this (temple shooting) happens is that we magnify the differences between people. We don’t magnify the similarities,” Kaleka said. “So one of our main goals is to magnify those similarities and say, ‘Hey, I’m not so different from you. So let’s come together in a common cause.’”
