All Corporations Go To Heaven

Slate’s Dahlia Lithwick looks into the ongoing legal battles surrounding the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate. While a split has already emerged as the courts weigh in on whether or not religious employers can be required to provide birth control under the ACA to its employees, Lithwick argues it comes down to one question: “It all depends on whether corporations—which already enjoy significant free-speech rights—can also invoke religious freedom rights enshrined in the First Amendment.”
