Wisconsin Sikhs Plan Peaceful Rites to Mark Shooting

Dinesh Ramde of the Associated Press reports that the members of the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, who were victims of a shooting nearly a year ago, will mark the anniversary by holding a series of memorial events. The events are planned in the spirit of  “chardhi kala,” which refers to a state of constant optimism, even in the face of hardship. “In Sikhism, it’s tough to lose somebody but God probably needed him earlier and called him back,” said temple trustee Harcharan Gill. “We accept whatever decision he makes.”
