A Rainbow Over Catholic Colleges

The New York Times’ Kyle Spencer reports on how Georgetown, one of the nation’s leading Catholic universities, became a gay-friendly campus. While the support of homosexuality has pleased many alumni, it has angered others who claim the university is losing sight of its Catholic mission. “Our Catholic and Jesuit identity on campus has never been stronger,” Rachel Pugh, a Georgetown spokeswoman said. “Academically, we remain committed to the Catholic intellectual tradition.”
