Huge Crowds In Brazil Welcome Pope Back To Home Continent

Paulo Prada and Philip Pullella of Reuters report, “Pope Francis arrived in Brazil on Monday on his first foreign trip as pontiff and was swarmed by well-wishers as he drove into Rio de Janeiro.” Among his greeters was Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff, who, along with the pope, expressed economic concerns that the Church and Brazil share. Rousseff, whose approval rating has plummeted amid protests, said, “We fight against a common enemy: inequality.”
