LGBT Group Finds Acceptance At Evangelical College

Sarah Parvini of the Associated Press reports that Fuller Theological Seminary has sanctioned the nation’s first LGBT student club at a major evangelical seminary. OneTable, which is led by an openly gay seminarian, has attracted about three dozen students. Although successful, some critics argue the move is more about symbolism than true tolerance: “It sounds like they want to have it both ways,” says Richard Flory, researcher at the Center for Religion and Civic Culture at the University of Southern California. “Jesus loves you as you are, however there are limitations to what you can be.”
