Prisoners Urge End To Guantanamo Force-Feedings

Ben Fox of the Associated Press reports that four prisoners being held in Guantanamo Bay are asking a federal court to halt force-feedings. The prisoners have been on a hunger strike to protest their incarceration; the feedings are intended to prevent them from starving to death. Fox writes that the prisoners say the practice also “will prevent them from observing the traditional fast during the upcoming Muslim holy period of Ramadan, depriving them of the right to practice their religion as guaranteed by the Geneva Conventions.”
