Boston Marathon Bombings

The Wall Street Journal reports, “A close examination of the Tsarnaev family shows that, over the past five years or so, the personal lives of the family members slipped into turmoil.” While the team of reporters acknowledges “[n]o motive has yet emerged for the brothers’ alleged actions,” they write that law enforcement officials “are looking into whether Tamerlan Tsarnaev had taken a turn toward radical Islam.” His mother told the reporters that she and her older son had become stricter in their Muslim observance in recent years. “Over the past two years, Tamerlan became more confrontational about his religion, engaging in arguments with other worshipers at a Cambridge mosque he sometimes attended,” The Wall Street Journal reports, adding, “His growing religious interest coincided with a rocky period in his life.”
