Atheist Group Apologizes for Misquoting Palin, but Defends Billboard’s Intent

The group American Atheists, which misquoted Sarah Palin in a billboard in Texas, has offered an apology but stands by the “intent and context” of the content, reports Dan Merica of CNN. The billboard reads, “We should create law based on the God of the Bible,” while Palin’s actual quote does not contain the word “should.” David Silverman, the group’s president, stated, “While I admit that the word ‘should’ should technically not be inside the quote, the meaning was correct.”
