More in France Are Turning to Islam, Challenging a Nation’s Idea of Itself

At The New York Times, Maïa de la Baume examines the small, but growing number of Islamic converts in France, where fears of Islamic radicalism and terrorism plague society. “We must get rid of an imaginary Islamic culture,” Rafaello Sillitti, a Muslim convert, told de la Baume. “We must show that French culture and Islam can live together in peace.”
