Many southern advocates for women’s reproductive rights see the language of “abortion rights” to be the cause of opposition against a woman’s right to choose. James Bowley, Ph.D., a professor of religious studies at Millsaps College, said, “Change the language. Talk about it as women’s reproductive rights. Don’t talk about it as abortion rights. It is a much larger picture than that.”
