Michael Flynn’s ReAwaken Roadshow Recruits “Army of God”
Richard Lardner and Michelle R. Smith of the Associated Press report that retired Gen. Michael Flynn, a former Trump administration official, is headlining a conservative roadshow called ReAwaken, which peddles a form of Christian nationalism enmeshed with far-right ideologies. Lardner writes, “In the version of America laid out at the ReAwaken tour, Christianity should be at the center of American life and institutions. Instead, it’s under attack, and attendees need to fight to restore the nation’s Christian roots.” Organizers regularly baptize and bless attendees at the events, arguing that their spiritual experiences induct them into the “Army of God” that is destined for spiritual war to save the nation.
