U.S. Supreme Court Rebuffs Fetal Personhood Appeal
Nate Raymond of Reuters reports, “The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to decide whether fetuses are entitled to constitutional rights in light of its June ruling overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that had legalized abortion nationwide.” The court’s June ruling in Dobbs explicitly sidestepped the issue of fetal personhood. The latest appeal comes in the wake of the introduction of fetal personhood bills in state legislatures around the country.
