U.S. Holocaust Museum Says China Boosting Uyghur Repression

Matthew Lee of the Associated Press reports, “The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum says it has compiled evidence of increasing government repression against Uyghur Muslims in China’s western Xinjiang region.” The museum released a 59-page report with their findings on Tuesday, citing witness testimony alongside publicly available information. Lee writes, “The new findings include allegations of forced sterilization, sexual violence, enslavement, torture and forcible transfer.” The United States government has already labeled the actions of the Chinese government a genocide.
