At 9/11 Ceremonies, Moments of Silence, Tributes and Tears

Michael Gold and Katie Rogers of The New York Times report on the many memorial ceremonies held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11. They write, “Even as time has passed, and the horrific day has moved from fresh memory into the chronicles of history, the people who gathered across the country and the globe said the wounds from 9/11 have remained fresh.” Vice President Kamala Harris, speaking at the Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania, said, “On this 20th anniversary, on this solemn day of remembrance, we must challenge ourselves to, yes, look back. For the sake of our children. For the sake of their children. And for that reason, we must also look forward. We must also look toward the future.”
