Synagogues Scramble as Delta Throws a Wrench into High Holiday Planning

The Forward’s Stewart Ain reports that synagogue leaders are striving to safely hold High Holiday services amid the spread of the Covid Delta variant. Rabbi Joe Hample of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Morgantown, W.V., notes that the unexpected and changing course of the pandemic has upended an already unpredictable High Holiday season. “Everything is up in the air. It is what it is but it’s not the High Holidays you dream of,” he said.
