A Pastor’s Son Becomes a Critic of Religion on TikTok
Ruth Graham of The New York Times reports that Abraham Piper, the son of the influential Christian author and pastor John Piper, is a rising TikTok star—and a critic of evangelicalism. “If you want to roll your eyes at how weird it all was, that’s what I’m here for,” he says in one video. Graham writes, “Tyler Huckabee, a senior editor at the Christian magazine Relevant, described TikTok as a forum well-suited to following a faith journey like Mr. Piper’s. ‘He’s borrowed a lot of tricks from his dad, in taking complicated ideas and packaging them in quotable, easy-to-understand sound bites.’”
