In Biden’s Cabinet, Catholics and Jews Dominate

Religious News Service’s Yonat Shimron reports that President Joe Biden’s proposed Cabinet is making history in its religious diversity. The nominees include at least eight Catholics, five Jews, two Black Baptists, and possibly two Hindus. “One group not represented? White evangelicals, the group most loyal to President Donald Trump,” Shimron writes. Trump’s Cabinet included many white evangelicals, but their absence in Biden’s circle is perhaps not surprising. “Most evangelicals tend to lean Republican,” said Messiah University History Professor John Fea.
