Lawmakers, Faith Leaders Pray for President Biden and Vice President Harris Amid Power Transition

The Tennessean‘s Holly Meyer reports, “Americans across the political and theological spectrum are offering up prayers for Democratic President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who took the oath of office last week.” She interviews Religion & Politics Editor Marie Griffith, who is also the director of the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics at Washington University in St. Louis. Griffith says, “The lines between what is religious and what is political are so blurry. I think that often times what outside observers see as a clear line — this is political versus this is religious — for people themselves making those invocations they may not see it in the same way.”
