BJU Alumni form Gay Support Group for Students
David Diachenko, a Bob Jones University graduate and former faculty member, recently created an organization to support the LGBT community at the university. The group, called BJUnity, marched in the gay pride parade in New York City last weekend “for the visibility it provides for a group that’s just getting off the ground.” In response to the creation of the organization, the university released a statement saying, “Since the Scripture says clearly that homosexuality is a sin, BJU policies forbid homosexuality,” while at the same time recognizing the group’s right to exist.
