Conservative Women Are Leading the Defense of Kavanaugh

The Atlantic’s Emma Green reports that conservative and evangelical Christian women are leading the defense of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by at least three women. Pro-life groups are coordinating an “I Stand With Brett” rally on Capitol Hill. Mary Rice Hasson, a Catholic-studies fellow at a conservative research organization in Washington, said, “I can’t imagine a person with pro-life convictions who would want a person credibly accused of sexual assault to be on the Supreme Court. That said, I think we are heading into dangerous territory … Progressives are hurting the #MeToo movement – and real women who have suffered, and real men who might be falsely accused – with their rush to judgment on thin allegations.”
