Pruitt Tapes Revealed: Evolution’s a “Theory,” “Majority” Religions Under Attack

POLITICO’s Emily Holden and Alex Guillen report that Scott Pruitt, the head of the EPA, claimed evolution was a theory and Christianity was being displaced by minority religions. In six hours of radio archives from 2005 obtained by POLITICO, Pruitt, then an Oklahoma state senator, revealed a range of religious and political views. Holden and Guillen write, “EPA would not say this week whether any of Pruitt’s positions have changed since 2005.” On the tapes, Pruitt is also heard advocating for amendments banning abortion and same-sex marriage, and accusing the federal judiciary of being a ”judicial monarchy.”
