Transgender “Bathroom Bill” Leaves Texas Christians Deeply Divided

For The Guardian, Tom Dart reports that progressive and conservative faith groups are clashing over their respective opposition and support for a Texas “bathroom bill,” which aims to restrict transgender individuals’ access to restrooms. On Thursday, the Texas Pastor Council (TPC) organized a rally to oppose the bill for threatening morality and public safety. Neil Cazares-Thomas, a pastor at a progressive LGBTQ congregation, said, “I believe that the gospel is about a gospel of inclusion and not exclusion.”
