At the Women’s March, the Religious Left Resists Trump

At Religion News Service, Lauren Markoe reports, “Politics drew hundreds of thousands to the Women’s March on Washington Saturday (Jan. 21). But many said they were also compelled by their faith.” Progressive religious people marched too, and joined in the crowds, festooned with signs in support of a variety of causes, from abortion rights to Black Lives Matter, gay rights to science. Andy Miller, the former president of a Baltimore synagogue, said, “We’re here because we have to be here, and everything in our religious texts tell us to stand up for justice, for human rights, for equality.”
