Why Evangelicals Are Speaking Out Against Betsy DeVos
For POLITICO Magazine, Laura Turner reports that some evangelical Christians are speaking out against Betsy DeVos, President Trump’s pick for education secretary. Turner writes that the group of largely socially liberal evangelicals are criticizing DeVos based on her lack of experience and view of education that they say leaves behind the least fortunate students. Turner writes, “Although American evangelicals have traditionally sided with conservative policy, when it comes to education, more and more seem to be agreeing … that care for some of God’s children at the expense of the most vulnerable is no care at all.”
