Alt-Right Exults in Donald Trump’s Election With a Salute: “Heil Victory”

The New York Times’ Joseph Goldstein reports from Saturday’s alt-right conference in Washington, D.C., which gathered more than 200 people. The alt-right movement, which has become more vocal after Trump’s win in the presidential election, embraces anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and white nationalism. Richard B. Spencer, a leader of the movement, quoted Nazi propaganda in his speech. Spencer called Trump’s win “the victory of will,” and as he finished the speech, some audience members responded with a Nazi salute.
