Jewish-Muslim Alliance Formed Against Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia

At Religion News Service, Lauren Markoe reports that the American Jewish Committee and the Islamic Society of North America formed a new national group known as the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council on Monday. Markoe writes, “The new council may give Muslims and Jews a way to critique Trump and his advisers’ rhetoric and policy with a single voice.” The group’s announcement comes after president-elect Trump’s appointment of Stephen Bannon as his chief strategist. Bannon, the former chairman of Breitbart News, has been criticized for both Islamophobia and anti-Semitism.
