Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore Suspended over Same-Sex Marriage Order
CNN’s Ray Sanchez reports, “Alabama’s chief justice Roy Moore was suspended without pay Friday for the rest of his term for directing probate judges to enforce the state’s ban on same-sex marriage.” Moore’s orders contradicted the Supreme Court decision last year that legalized same-sex couples nationwide. Sanchez points out that Moore’s long fight against same-sex marriage makes him popular among evangelicals.
