Hillary Clinton’s Moral Conflicts on Abortion

At The Atlantic, Myriam Renaud writes that Hillary Clinton’s Methodist faith has resulted in her ambivalence regarding abortion. Though Clinton is in favor of abortion rights, she is conflicted on the procedure’s morality, a belief that aligns with the United Methodist Church’s stances in its Book of Discipline. Renaud writes, “Clinton’s faith-based commitments give her the ability to relate to others whose views are similarly grounded. If she acknowledges her ambivalence about the morality of abortion, she could give pro-lifers the hearing they demand.”
