French Government Battles Intolerance with New Public Relations Campaign

At Religion News Service, Elizabeth Bryant reports that the French government has unveiled a three year public relations campaign to combat religious intolerance. The campaign will contain everything from legal proposals to citizen education drives in an effort to combat rising hate speech and other forms of discrimination. “We cannot just sit and watch rising populism, extremism and radicalism in all its forms, to have this threat in the middle of our republic,” said Gilles Clavreul, head of  a ministerial body combating racism and anti-Semitism in France.
