In The Atlantic, Anand Gopal reports that even though ISIS continues to retreat, Sunni Muslims are losing hope for a peaceful Iraq. ISIS, which preaches a radicalized version of Sunni extremism, has seen their actions projected onto to all Sunnis, making it difficult for them to find safety. “There was security, there was law, there was a system in place,” said Abu Ammar, a Sunni Muslim. “After the Americans, there was chaos.”
