Bernie Sanders Meets With Pope Francis

The New York Times‘ Jason Horowitz and Yamiche Alcindor report that Senator Bernie Sanders met briefly with Pope Francis during a trip to the Vatican. The Democratic presidential candidate originally had no plans to meet with the pontiff, but was granted an opportunity for a brief conversation before Francis left for Greece to address the migrant crisis. “I conveyed to him my great admiration for the extraordinary work that he is doing all over the world in demanding that morality be part of our economy,” Sanders said.
