Meet the “Nones,” the Democratic Party’s Biggest Faith Constituency

Michelle Boorstein of The Washington Post reports on the rise of the religiously unaffiliated within the Democratic Party. Although the “nones,” tend to have socially liberal viewpoints, they lack the coordination that evangelicals have within the Republican Party. “You might say we are awaiting the emergence of a secular Jerry Falwell,” said David Campbell, who chairs the political science department at the University of Notre Dame.
