The Transformation of David Brooks

At The Columbia Journalism Review, Danny Funt writes on David Brooks, the Jewish columnist for The New York Times, who has been trying to translate complicated Christian principles, such as the concept of sin, into secular terms for the mainstream population. “Brooks says he doesn’t wish to instruct people on how to live, but to provide a context for thinking,” Funt writes. “People may reject his views, but doing so often prompts them to develop their own philosophy.”
