GOP Candidates Make Pitches to Evangelical Voters

Karen Tumulty of The Washington Post reports that Republican Presidential candidates attempted to sway evangelical voters this weekend at the North Texas Presidential Forum. The political gathering at Prestonwood Baptist Church was attended by over 6,000 conservatives, as candidates showcased their religious credentials to the audience. “There are more candidates with a compelling faith testimony and strong stands on social issues than at any time in the modern history of the GOP,” said Faith and Freedom Coalition President Ralph Reed, whose organization sponsored the event. “Choosing a candidate will be difficult and may take longer than one might expect.”
