Tsarnev’s Own Words from Inside Boat Shown in Court

For The Boston Globe, Milton J. Valencia and Patricia Wen report, “As he hid in a boat stored in a Watertown backyard, a wounded Dzhokhar Tsarnaev scrawled a message in pencil on the inside panels. On Tuesday in federal court, a jury got to read those words, which were interrupted by bullet holes and smeared with blood.” In his words, Tsarnev expressed his hopes for martyrdom and jealousy that his brother Tamerlan had already achieved it.
