Rhode Island on Track to be 10th State to Allow Gay Marriage

On Wednesday, the Rhode Island State Senate easily passed legislation to legalize gay marriage, reports the Associated Press. The heavily Catholic state has long been considered a holdout to gay marriage in New England. Sen. Donna Nesselbush, the bill’s main sponsor, said, “This is something that undoes centuries of discrimination against gay and lesbian couples.”
