New Books Allege Mismanagement, Excess at the Vatican
posted on November 3, 2015Anthony Faiola and Stefano Pitrelli of The Washington Post report on the release of two books today containing new allegations of mismanagement and excess at the Vatican. Accusations include excessive spending, misallocation of church funds, abuses of the Vatican Bank, and corruption. Faiola and Pitrelli write, “The allegations in the books suggest a mix of formidable forces confront Pope Francis as he seeks to reform a Vatican bureaucracy long shrouded in secrecy and charged for years with being inefficient and lacking in transparency.”
