How Is the White House Seder Different From All Others?

Devra Ferst of The Forward reports on the history of President Obama’s annual Passover seder, which was started by three campaign aides in 2008. The tradition began “while on the campaign trail and then-senator Obama surprised them by dropping in,” Ferst writes. One year later, the same three aides planned the first official White House Seder, and the tradition stuck. Aurn Chaudhary explains the “uniquely personal” White House Seder saying, “When you work in politics, the people you work with are your family.”
