Danforth Continues Lifelong Quest to Merge Politics and Faith

posted on September 23, 2015

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Tony Messenger writes on the upcoming release of former Senator Jack Danforth’s second book, The Relevance of Religion: How Faithful People Can Change Politics, set to go on sale on October 13. (Danforth is the namesake of the John C. Danforth Center on Religion and Politics, which publishes this journal.) Though religion has become a divisive topic in the current presidential campaign, Danforth writes that people of faith “can improve America’s broken and divided political system by engaging with their neighbors, encouraging a dialogue that starts with mutual respect and strives for the common good.”
