Brazen Figure May Hold Key to Mysteries

In The New York Times, David D. Kirkpatrick describes Islamist leader Ahmed Abu Khattala’s apparent role in the 2012 assault on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi. Apprehended this week by U.S. Special Forces, Abu Khattala had became infamous in the rebellion against Colonel Quaddafi and its aftermath for his extremism and eccentricity. “There is always hostility between the religions,” he once said in an interview. “That is the nature of religions.”
