Abortion Bill Finally Passes Texas Legislature
posted on July 15, 2013Becca Anderson, Shefali Luthra, and Morgan Smith of The Texas Tribune report that the controversial abortion bill in the Texas legislature is finally heading to Governor Rick Perry’s desk after passing through the state Senate. Democrats offered 20 amendments that were all struck down along party lines, and the bill moved on in a 19-11 vote late Friday night. “We all believe in the beauty and wonder of human life,” State Senator Wendy Davis said. “The fight for the future of Texas is just beginning.”
