Reinhold Niebuhr’s Writing on Religion and Politics: An Interview with Elisabeth Sifton

Reader’s Almanac, the blog of the Library of America, has an interview with Elisabeth Sifton, daughter of theologian Reinhold Niebuhr and editor of an upcoming volume of his sermons, books, and lectures entitled Reinhold Niebuhr: Major Works on Religion and Politics. Niebuhr was a realist thinker, sympathetic to the injustices and inequalities of U.S. society and policy in his era, Sifton says. “This book shows how he wrestled with the spiritual and political issues of those times: many of them are with us still, and some are with us always.”
