Killing of Iraqi Refugee Has Texas Muslims on Edge

At The Washington Post, Sarah Kaplan reports on the killing of Ahmed al-Jumaili last Wednesday at his home outside of Dallas. A recent émigré to the United States, al-Jumaili fled the violence of Iraq, but it’s still unclear if he was actually targeted in the U.S. Kaplan writes, “But the shooting death of a Muslim man just three weeks after the slaying of three Muslim students in Chapel Hill, N.C., made national news—and amid a wave of antagonism toward Dallas’s Muslim community—has sparked unease in the region.”
