Modi Vows To Protect All Religious Minorities

At Reuters, Rupam Jain Nair reports that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to protect religious minorities in his country in the wake of several attacks on Christian institutions in New Delhi. Opponents of Modi, who is the head of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, claim that he has failed to protect other religions from Hindu extremists during his political career. “My government will not allow any religious group, belonging to the majority or the minority, to incite hatred against others, overtly or covertly,” Modi said.
