Evangelical College’s Lawsuit Proves Divisive

Ruth Graham at Al Jazeera reports that on the campus of Wheaton College in Illinois, a debate is occurring on the validity of a lawsuit against the contraception mandate. Although Wheaton is a Christian institution, its choice to become so involved in the legal case has prompted conversations on the inconsistencies of the college’s arguments. “It’s right that students have recognized that something has gone wrong,” said Beth Felker Jones, Wheaton theology professor. “But I think adopting the Roman Catholic solution here is theologically problematic, and I don’t think it’s good for women.”
