Gov. Scott Signs Late Term Abortion Bill
CBSMiami reports on Florida Governor Rick Scott’s signing of a bill tightening Florida’s abortion laws. While third trimester abortions were already illegal in the state, the new bill requires “women to have a doctor determine whether a fetus is viable before having an abortion,” no matter the stage of her pregnancy. According to Ingrid Delgado, the spokeswoman for the Florida Conference of Catholic Bishops, “This good legislation protects our society’s most vulnerable, the unborn, and recognizes that an unborn child who is viable and can sustain life outside the womb has a right to life.”
