Muslims Seek Refuge in C. African Republic Church

The Associated Press reports that a Catholic Church is protecting nearly 800 Muslims from a Christian militia as violence continues to escalate in the Central African Republic. The Christian militia, known as the anti-Balaka, has sought retribution after blaming Muslim rebels for the massacre of several Christian villages throughout the country. Mahmoud Laminou, one of the men in hiding, said, “If it weren’t for the church and the peacekeepers, we’d all be dead.”
