To mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Tablet interviews nine of the dwindling number of Holocaust survivors and portrays the often-impoverished situations they face, especially in the United States. “The compensation is never going to replace what I saw, what I went through, when I was in camp a young boy,” Boris Shkolnik said. “No matter how much money in the world they give you or how much money I get, it’s nothing.”
